Revival Begins with Prayer
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
Revivals throughout history have always begun with prayer. Dr. Feddes reminds us that the first step in revival is when believers pray eagerly and urgently. Before God moves in power, before hearts are stirred and before lives are transformed, His people must seek Him in prayer.
This is seen in the great revivals of the past - whether in Korea, Africa, or China. Men and women of faith cried out to God, and He responded by pouring out His Spirit. Prayer is not just a routine or obligation; it is the gateway to God’s presence and power. It is through prayer that we humble ourselves, confess our sins, and align our hearts with God’s will.
When we pray earnestly, we invite God to do a mighty work in us and through us. Are we willing to be part of this? Let us not wait for someone else to start praying. Let revival begin with us today!
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your presence and power. Stir within us a deep hunger for You. Teach us to pray fervently, not just for ourselves, but for revival in our homes, churches, and communities. Let our prayers rise like incense before You, bringing transformation and renewal. May we be instruments of Your revival, boldly sharing the gospel and living lives that glorify You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen!
