How can we effectively balance the need to share our faith and beliefs with the respect for others' autonomy and readiness to receive the message, without coming across as judgmental or forceful?

Great question, and I'm sure something that everyone will struggle with at some point. In my secular career, I have worked in behavioral health and currently teach de-escalation training to hospital staff. One idea that I think may be helpful from our program is to "join and follow to lead". Meeting people where they are is paramount and helps give us perspective into other's lives to better understand where they are coming from. It's a lot easier to navigate someone's struggles with faith if you understand where that struggle comes from. Good luck on your journey!
