Obedience to the Lord’s Command
“Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God’s commands is what counts.” - 1 Corinthians 7:19 (NIVUK)
In life, many things can seem important - traditions, status, or external markers of faith - but what truly matters is obedience to God. Paul reminds us that outward practices mean little if our hearts are not aligned with God’s will. What counts is following the Lord’s commands, living in righteousness and walking in His ways.
Obedience to God is an expression of our love and faith in Him. When we prioritise His word above all else, we position ourselves to receive His blessings and guidance. This means seeking His will daily, applying His teachings in our lives and trusting that His commands lead us to true life and purpose.
Heavenly Father, help me to focus on what truly matters - following Your commands and walking in obedience. Remove distractions that pull me away from Your will and give me a heart that seeks to honour You above all else. May my actions reflect my faith and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Hello,
Yes, you have written very well. Obedience to God is also the purpose of my life. Just as you mentioned, many things may seem important, but what truly counts is keeping God’s commands and aligning our hearts with His will. Obstacles are also a way through which God shapes us, just as it was with the early Christians. Thank you for this wonderful encouragement. Thank you.
Best regards, Lubomir Lakatos
