Hello!

Hello fellow students,

My name is Camille and I began the PhD program this week. I am thrilled to be pursuing my doctorate alongside all of you. I decided to enroll because I want to grow closer to Jesus.

I have degrees in Religious Studies, Philosophy, English Literature and Creative Writing. I completed my MA in Strategic Communications and have used my love of stories and teaching to shape a career in higher education and nonprofits of all sizes. I am a published poet and currently writing poetry and children’s literature. Recently, I felt God clearly calling me to take a risk and pursue my writing (professional and creative) full time. I also felt His encouragement to continue my education in pursuit of knowing Him more intimately. So here we are… ;)

Additionally, I am a mother of two (daughter 7, son 10), and married to my college sweetheart who is a high school teacher, coach, and all around incredible human. We live in the country (Oregon) and enjoy the outdoors but are in the phase of life where we spend most of our free time driving our kids to their various activities, which has its own chaotic beauty and rhythm to it, and we try not to take any of it for granted, which is also why I am typing this from my car.

May this time of learning be inspired and bring all of us into closer community and nearness to our Creator.

Hi, Camille

I am from Washington State, but currently living in Texas. I am very seriously considering moving to Oregon this summer. I am a teacher, and I am considering the North Clackamas School District... it seems to be in a good location, as far as its proximity to Portland. I would love to hear what you think about the area/school district. It's great to meet you!
