This is Me

Hello everyone, my name is John Wallis, and I am in the Doctor of Biblical Studies program here at QCT. I finished my master’s degree in English at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, (Yes, I’m an Okie), about a year and a half ago and attended some classes for an MFA degree in creative writing at Liberty University. However, the financial obligation for Liberty’s online program quickly became overwhelming and I had to drop out. But I have always wanted to explore and learn more about the Bible and examine the nuances of God’s word. I was also interested in achieving a PhD at the same time. So, the program at Queens College of Theology is a great fit for my current situation. My current occupation is writing tutor (Academic Support Specialist, Tutoring Services), for a large metropolitan Junior college in the Tulsa area.

My wife and I attend a local AOG-type church here in our small town and I sometimes teach creative writing workshops for bible study groups twice a year there. We have published two volumes of our Green Country Magazine and Literary Journal through these workshops using Amazon’s Kindle Publishing Direct and are available here- https://amzn.to/400VOoP for the first edition and the second edition is here- https://amzn.to/401yK9A. We are working on the third edition to be published in April of 2025 and I would encourage anyone reading this to submit to our journal for possible inclusion in our next edition. You can submit through the journal’s email at johnandrobinwallis@greencountrymagazine.com, or through our website at http://greencountrymagazine.com/

Anyway, I am excited to be embarking on this journey with QCT and look forward to learning all I can about the Bible and sharing this knowledge with others.
