The Law and Grace: God’s Plan for Salvation
The Law reveals God’s perfect standard and shows us our sin, but it cannot save us. It points to our need for a Saviour.
Romans 3:20 (KJV) – “For by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
The Law serves to highlight our failure to meet God’s standards, making it clear that we cannot earn salvation through our works.
Grace is God’s gift of salvation, freely given through faith in Jesus Christ. It offers forgiveness and new life, not because of what we do, but because of what Jesus has done for us.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
Jesus fulfilled the Law by living a perfect life and dying for our sins, giving us the opportunity to be saved through His grace.
Matthew 5:17 (KJV) – “I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”
In summary, the Law shows us our need for Grace, and Grace sets us free to live for God through Jesus Christ.
