Stay Rooted in Truth and Commitment
Scriptural Verse: “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.” – Revelation 3:2 (KJV)
Reflection:
The city of Sardis, once strong and thriving, became complacent and fell unexpectedly to its enemies. Similarly, Jesus warned the church in Sardis in Revelation 3:1-6 that though they had a reputation for being alive, they were actually spiritually dead. This reminds us that appearances do not define true faith; what matters is a deep, living relationship with Christ.
Like Sardis, we must guard against spiritual complacency. Our faith should not rest on past achievements but be continually strengthened through prayer, study, and obedience. The call to “be watchful” challenges us to remain vigilant in our walk with Christ, ensuring that we are not just going through the motions but truly living out our faith.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to remain watchful and committed in my walk with You. Keep my faith alive and growing, and guard me against spiritual complacency. Let me be a light that reflects Your truth and love, standing firm against untruths and distractions. Strengthen me to live in full obedience to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
