I am Mwansa Nkhata. I have been married to Phemie Chilanga for over 20 years and we have been blessed with two children and three grandchildren. I live in Lusaka, Zambia.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, and a diploma in business administration. I am also a graduate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) of the United Kingdom (UK). I have over 20 years of work experience in the food and beverage industry. I am currently working for a food processing company as a factory production manager. I taught high school chemistry and physics at government schools for five years in my early career.I was raised in a non-Christian family. My parents, who are both dead, never worshipped God. Because of this, I never paid much attention to God throughout my childhood and part of my adulthood. I was addicted to alcohol for several years but in 2012, I accepted Jesus Christ and was delivered from the addictions which tormented me for several years.
In 2021, I sensed a calling from God because I developed a deep interest in studying and preaching the word of God. I occasionally lead Bible study sessions at my denomination. I am a member of the United Church of Zambia. United Church of Zambia is the largest Protestant Church in Zambia with coverage of all the ten provinces of the country. The church has 3,000,000 members in 1,060 congregations.
In order to respond to God’s call, I decided to pursue formal training in Bible and theology. I am currently studying Master of Art in Theology at Lucent University and I am scheduled to graduate in July 2024.The Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Studies program at Queens College of Theology will definitely fulfil my long-term goal of becoming a Bible teacher. I would like to dedicate my life to God’s work after my retirement. I enjoy reading and writing.
I have enjoyed reading all the student introductions and an especially touched by your testimony! God is so good and He has the best in store for you! I am praying for continuing growth and deepening relationship with Christ.
