Recognition of school and degree
Anyone know if this PhD will be recognized? I'm a public school teacher and want to be a better witness to others. I know that my co-workers can be sticklers for school reputation and I wouldn't want that thrown in my face when trying to witness to them about theological things. I went to a regionally accredited undergraduate school and a regionally accredited graduate school for my masters but I'm curious about this program.

Good day, Benjamin Chacko,
I understand your concerns regarding the recognition of the school and its degree. Queens College of Theology is an institution that offers programs in theology and biblical studies. However, the accreditation of the school may be crucial for your future, so it is advisable to independently review their website to determine whether their programs are accredited by agencies recognized in your region or field of work.
In my opinion, Queens College of Theology is justified in offering religious studies based on an exemption. I encourage you to review the accreditation section of their website, as I have done.
I hold a recognized doctorate (DSc.), but I view a PhD - Biblical studies, as a developmental certification program that primarily fosters personal growth. It is important to recognize that obtaining accreditation requires significant financial resources from educational institutions.
This program is offered without imposing a financial burden, meaning that the final issuance of the diploma incurs only a fee of $250. Consequently, the school has made a commendable decision in providing this program.
Is this program equivalent to a four-year, full-time theological program that includes instruction in Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, and translation studies??? To answer this question from my perspective, it is essential to emphasize self-development, which encompasses experiences in both qualitative and quantitative research. Additionally, the use of at least three biblical software programs for biblical analysis, source examination, and the study of biblical languages such as Hebrew, Aramaic, and Koine Greek is crucial. The subjects of focus include hermeneutics, apologetics, systematic theology, and related fields. This is why continuous, lifelong education is necessary. I view this as an integral part of ongoing education in theology and biblical studies.
But I am happy here, so I support the view that the school does not necessarily need to be accredited or pay large sums to agencies. This is my perspective; please review the school's website and form your own judgment.
I will be extremely happy and proud when I successfully complete this program and validate my eight years of experience in the field.
I view it as a testament to my expertise.
Best regards,
Lubomir Lakatos
