Living in Readiness for Christ’s Return
Be prepared at all times for the second coming of Christ, for He will return like a thief in the night. (1 Thessalonians 5:2)
Jesus’ return will be sudden and unexpected, just like a thief who comes at night when people are least prepared. Because no one knows the exact time of His coming (Matthew 24:36), believers are called to live in a state of readiness—remaining faithful, prayerful, and obedient to God.
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for Your love, grace, and the promise of our Lord Jesus Christ’s return. As we await His glorious coming, fill our hearts with faith, hope, and readiness. Help us to live holy and obedient lives, sharing the gospel with urgency and love.
Strengthen us to stand firm in trials, to shine as lights in this world, and to encourage one another in the faith. Let our hearts long for His appearing, and may we be found faithful when He comes.
Come, Lord Jesus! We eagerly await the day when You will make all things new and reign in righteousness forever.
In Jesus’ name,
